2019 Louis Jadot Domaine Clair-Daü Marsannay Rosé, Burgundy, France

Price: $39.99

Domaine Clair-Daü, although relatively young, was one of the greatest domaines of Burgundy. The Domaine was founded in 1919 when Joseph Clair married Marguerite Dau. From humble beginnings - Joseph was a farmer and Marguerite had a small family estate - the domain grew over the next 50 years to include some of the greatest vineyards in Burgundy. Sadly, like many Burgundian families, infighting eventually became too much for them to handle, and the domaine was sold in pieces in 1985. The original Clair-Daü wines are now some of the most sought-after, desirable, and ultimately rare wines in the world. This rosé is made from the family’s original Pinot Noir holdings in Marsannay. Orange-pink in color, this wine shows intense complexity for a rosé, harmonizing red berries, nectarines, strawberries, flowers and chalky minerality.
