Our friend Eric Railsback of the San Francisco wine destination RN74, joins us to pour his excellent wines alongside Chef Vetri's menu. The winery is named Lieut Dit, and the fruit is sourced from Santa Barbara County. Eric got his start in the wine game at an early age being turned on to Gruner Veltliner by his older brother who was a sommelier. Before working at RN74 he worked at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles as well at Gordon Ramseys restaurant, The London. The wines are inspired by France's Loire Valley and are sourced from cooler, marine influenced sites. The Cabernet Franc is a perfect choice for the flavors of summer, showing bright, crunchy raspberry fruit and no new wood whatsoever. The Sauvignon Blanc is made in a similar vein: clean, lively, and savory with terrific minerality. There is also a powerful dry Chenin Blanc, which we will pour as well.
