Château Musar is the name of a Lebanese winery in Ghazir, Lebanon, 24 kilometres (15 mi) north of the capital Beirut and one of the most unique and interesting wineries on the planet. A family winery started in the 1930’s by Gaston Hochar, it was Serge Hochar who took inspiration from Bordeaux and produced over 50 vintages despite war in Lebanon and frequent tension. These magical wines are often compared to great wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Rhône Valley. Due to the winemaking philosophy of Serge Hochar, its vintages are notoriously inconsistent, but reward those who are adventurous with remarkable pleasure. We are very fortunate to welcome Marc Hochar to Boulder for an exceptional opportunity to learn about and taste these rare and exotic wines. Marc will host a tasting and discussion featuring the following wines directly from the Domaine: White: 2007, 2006, 2001, 1998 Red: 2008, 2005, 2002, 1998 or 1997. The tasting will be held at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder, tickets are $40 per person and a portion of proceeds will go to benefit There with Care charity. Contact Boulder Wine Merchant (303) 443-6761 to purchase tickets - ONLY 35 SEATS WILL BE AVAILABLE!
