We were delighted recently when we tasted the marvelous Friday’s Folly Red from Bookcliff Vineyards. This wine has deliciously ripe and attractive flavors and a velvety-smooth texture that will delight your senses. The source of the grapes for this stellar red is none other that the vineyards of western Colorado! We have long been supporters of Colorado vintners and, when the quality merited, have featured their wines from time to time over the past 25 years. The Bookcliff Friday’s Folly represents yet another step forward in Colorado viticulture – a well-crafted blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah at a very affordable price.
The wine has a vivid ruby color. The bouquet is luscious and forward with lots of cherry and blackberry fruit scents backed by subtleties of herbs and and black-peppery spice. On the palate, it is seductively smooth with the juicy blackberry and cherry fruit enhanced by nuances of herbs and spices. If you're not yet a fan of Colorado wines, try this one!
